OPERA IN THE VINEYARDS
Opera in the Vineyard is a charity event held on the first weekend in May each year in the spectacular vineyards of Ballandeen Estate Wines. The event is one of South East Queensland’s premier cultural events, and the jewel of the Granite Belt’s social calendar. Opera in the Vineyard attracts up to 2000 people each year providing an intoxicating mix of music, wine, food and an unforgettable time. The event organisers Ballandean Estate Wines and the Rotary Club of Stanthorpe have donated almost a million dollars to charity since the events inception.
The Event Program
Opera in the Vineyard offers a number of experiences to suit each guest:
Lunch and Opera: a sumptuous sit down lunch followed by Opera in the open air amphitheatre
Opera and Dinner: arrive in time for the opera and stay for the Gala Dinner Dance to dance the night away
All Day: arrive for lunch and stay until the band stops playing at the end of the night
Opera Only: Spend 3.5 hours mesmerised by the music, the view and the wine.
Complimentary Buses are the best way to attend the opera, although ample car parking is available adjacent to the winery.
GOLDEN GROVE ESTATE CHRISTMAS IN JULY LUNCHES
Christmas in July 2014 Celebrate “Bon Natale” in July with a Sicilian twist. Join us for a lunch away from the traditional ham and turkey, Chef Jason will entice your taste buds with foods his Sicilian family have for Christmas. A full buffet of mains and desserts awaits you.
You will be entertained by our local folk group “Tre Amici”.

TABLE FOR SIXTEEN
Twisted Gum Wines will be hosting their Table for Sixteen degustation dinners this year on the 14th June, 19th July and 16 August. Join your hosts Tim and Michelle Coelli for this delicious five-course dinner, including succulent organic Mallow Lamb. All courses are accompanied with a selection of fine wines, from crisp dry whites to deep, inky reds, to cheeky pink Moscatos.
There are only sixteen places available at the Long Table, Twisted Gum’s stylish cellar door set in their traditional 1920′s Queenslander. Book early to avoid disappointment!

Join the Golden Grove Estate family for a night of alternative wines and food to match. The two brothers, Ray Costanzo (Winemaker) and Jason Costanzo (Chef) will work together to match our alternative varieties (Strange Birds) to foods with a Mediterranean flavour. So come along to our cosy tasting room and sample our gold medal winning wines and peck your way through the chef’s gatherings.

KEFI AT THE WINERY

The aromas of sauvignon blanc, merlot and spit roasted rosemary lamb will be in the air, and the sounds of live pulsating bouzouki with Greek dancing will add to the celebration. Kefi at the winery is on again, at Kominos Wines on 21st September. One of the oldest and most successful granite belt winery functions, Kefi has an atmosphere of celebration.
“Our emphasis has always been to have a fun night with fine wines, Greek cuisine and exciting dance music” says hostess Mary Comino. “We try to capture the atmosphere of a Mediterranean night under the stars- but in our case a giant marquee”.
“Our guests love the authenticity of the night, where we showcase what we produce ourselves”. “The wines are made by us from our surrounding vineyards” says winemaker Tony Comino.”Our Winemaker Reserve series of wines, which are only available cellar door will be featured. They include Gold and Silver medal winning wines from this year’s wine show circuit.”
